The 7 Best Things About Freezer Meals

1. Easy To Put Together

Freezer meals aren’t hard to make and you don’t need to dedicate an entire day to spend cooking in the kitchen. In fact, for a time-saving tip, double a dinner recipe: eat one-half and freeze the other half.

If you ever have questions about freezing a certain meal you can always google your recipe and add “freezer instructions” (for example, fajita dinner freezer instructions). There are tons of food blogs dedicated specifically to freezer meals. You will almost always find a way to freeze each meal.

2. They Can Be Delicious

Freezer meals don’t have to come from a box or the freezer section of the grocery store. And they certainly don’t have to be pizza, lasagna, or anything else that is very common place.

When I became pregnant with my second child I tore the internet apart to find healthy, delicious dinner freezer meals. My family and I lived off these meals for the first six months of our son’s life, and they were our saving grace! They froze very well and cooked as if we made them that day.

3. Make What You Eat

Learn from one of my past cooking mistakes – don’t make a meal unless you know you’re going to eat and enjoy it. If you’re not a soup fan, don’t make soups! They’ll simply take up precious freezer space, be a waste of food, and ultimately sit there and not do anyone any good.

The best thing you can do is make what you and your family will eat (and enjoy!)

4. Healthy

The freezer meals you make can be very healthy. There is a variety of options available if you’re willing to look. The recipes I made with my son’s birth I kept and compiled into a cookbook. This is the most well loved and used book in my kitchen because the meals are healthy, freeze well, and have been taste-tested by some of the pickiest eaters.

5. Readily Available

One of the best things about freezer meals is they can be readily available for the days when you need them the most. You can make a few meals and share them with a sick neighbor, a new mother, or use for your family on those busier nights.

6. Save $$$

Freezer meals don’t have to be just dinner food. In fact, breakfast freezer meals are just as wonderful and healthy too. Not only will these meals save your sanity knowing you have a backup plan in case things go crazy, but you’re saving a ton of money from eating out.

($25-$30 for ordering pizza x 1 time per month = $300-$360 per year).

7. Save Time

You can save so much time by preparing and cooking freezer meals. You can spend this extra time with your family or be doing something you love.

Freezer meals don’t have to be difficult, they certainly don’t have to take up a lot of your time, and they can be healthy, delicious and simple to make. Do you have a favorite freezer meal recipe or tip? Share with us in the commentss below!
