This easy marshmallow recipe is perfect for your next green theme holiday. Whether you're planning a dessert for St. Patrick's Day or Christmas, this recipe will help you look like a cooking all-star!
Soak 2 envelopes of gelatin in 3/4 cup of cold water. Set aside.
Bring 3/4 cup of water to a boil and add 2 cups of sugar. Stir constantly and boil for 10 minutes. (The sugar and water will become a thick and creamy liquid, which is what you want).
Pour the sugar-water mixture over the gelatin mixture and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a few drops of green food coloring.
Beat for 20 minutes using a mixer (your arm will thank you). The mixture will become a thick and creamy liquid.
While the marshmallows are in the mixture, spray a 9x13 pan with cooking oil.
After 20 minutes pour the mixture into the cooking pan and place in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight. (The more time you're able to give your marshmallows, the better).
Once the marshmallows are set you can easily cut them into squares or soak a cookie cutter with water to make festive decorations.
Roll into powdered sugar. You can also add coconut, sprinkles, peppermint pieces, etc.
