Before she sent us to school my mother would gather us in our family’s living room and say a prayer.
She would pray we’d be safe, have a great day with friends, and learn from our teachers.
My mother would have this prayer with one child who left for school at 5:30AM and others who left later in the morning.
Her prayer was always the same, and she said it with such conviction that we couldn’t help but feel protected.
It wasn’t until later in life that I realized how much my mother’s prayers meant to me.
And now, I have the opportunity to say protection prayers for my mother.
As she grows older and faces new challenges, I pray for her physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
I ask for strength and resilience in the face of any difficulties that come her way.
I pray for happiness and joy to fill her days, and for peace to surround her always.
My mother’s protection prayer has become a part of my daily routine, and it brings me comfort knowing that she is always being looked after.
