Amazing & Easy Sloppy Joes Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons steak seasoning (or sloppy joe seasoning)
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated (or finely diced)
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 – 8-ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions:

Place a large skillet on the stove. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and ground beef to the skillet. Cook the beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains.

Drain the excess fat and add the brown sugar and steak seasoning to the ground beef.

Mix well.

In a separate pan add remaining 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add prepared carrot, onion, red pepper, garlic, red wine vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the veggies are tender.

Add the cooked meat, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and maple syrup to the veggie pan. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Add salt to taste (as needed).

Place this wonderful mixture between two hamburger buns, eat, and enjoy.
