Do you love chocolate everything? Then you’re going to absolutely love this chocolate chip cream cheese croissant bake. This easy recipe is kid-friendly and so simple to make. Your family (and your tummy) will thank you.
There have been so many blessings since I began the Home Faith Family blog. I’ve had the opportunity to meet incredible people, try new recipes, strengthen my family, and really learn to grow and become a better wife and mother.
One of these opportunities (especially for learning, growing, and trying new things) came when I saw the opportunity to participate in the 2018 Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop.
Welcome to the second 2018 monthly Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen!
So this month, I chose to make a delicious “Chocolate Cream Cheese Croissant Bake” from KeyIngredient.com that my husband sent to me because in all honesty, who doesn’t love chocolate?!
As a side note, I did alter this recipe a little for a richer taste. So if you LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate than I encourage you to keep reading and use my recipe. If you prefer a less sweet but still satisfying chocolate recipe, then Key Ingredients has you covered.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Croissant Bake
Ingredients Needed:
- 2 – 3 packages of refrigerated croissants
- 2 packages of cream cheese
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 and 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (I could eat these chocolate chips all day.)
Instructions:
Open your refrigerated croissants from their packages and lay them out on a cutting board (do not unroll them). Using a large cutting knife, cut the dough into 1-inch pieces.
Using a 9 x 13-inch pan (spray with butter or oil based spray), roll the 1-inch dough pieces and place them on the bottom of the pan tight together.
(As a side note, using the 1-inch method I found this to be the perfect size for after this dessert was baked. I also found that I needed to use 2 full croissant packages plus half of a third. Please keep that in mind pending on the size of the dough and the size of your pan when you’re making this yummy dessert).
Once all of the dough has been placed on the bottom of the pan, generously pour chocolate chips on top of the dough. (I ended up using one full bag – instead of 2 cups – for a richer and creamer chocolate taste).
In an electric mixer beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk into the mixer and stir until well-blended.
Your mixture should be a liquid based and will easily pour on top of your rolls and chocolate. Place in the oven at 450 degrees (F) for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Allow your dessert to cool for 5 – 10 minutes before serving.
Eat and enjoy by itself or serve with some creamy vanilla ice cream on top.
Let me know in the comments below how you and your family enjoy this recipe. Don’t forget to share this recipe with a friend who also loves chocolate!

Wow! That looks amazing! I always pour in the whole bag of chocolate chips too into just about any recipe… the more chocolate the better I always say! Pinned.

You can never go wrong with chocolate! Have a happy day, friend.
Oh my gosh this looks so delicious. I LOVE chocolate and will be trying this recipe. My waistline won’t be thanking me but my taste buds will.
Hahaha! My waistline didn’t thank me either. I kept telling my husband, “This bite is for me and the rest is for the baby.” I hope you enjoy the recipe. Have a happy day, friend.
Oooo…this sounds like a really rich chocolatey dessert. Yum! I’m wondering if you have to roll the dough into balls or if you can just plop them in the pan willy nilly? Pinned.
With crescent rolls, you’ll want to roll them into balls for a better formation. If you have little ones at home, this is the perfect job for them to help without causing too much trouble (or messes) in the kitchen. Have a happy day, friend!
As you said, “who doesn’t love chocolate?” I’m raising both hands here! This looks so good! Pinned!
Thank you so much, Lisa. Have a great day, friend.

I hope you enjoy the recipe, Michelle. Have a happy day.
Can this be made ahead of time and freeze?
Technically you can freeze this meal, however, I would not recommend it. Cream cheese tends to change its texture in the freezer, and ultimately, this *could* change the taste to the dessert. Thank you for your great question, Theresa!
Do you really mean 450° or is it 350°? 450° seems really hot to bake.
Yes, you’re going to want the higher temperature. The first time I made this treat I thought 450F was too high. But everything came out super doughy. The next time I baked this dessert at the 450F temperature and everything was delicious.
