Can I tell you a secret?
Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday to celebrate, and I actually drag my feet (per se) when this holiday comes around every year.
But, this doesn’t mean that we don’t do fun things in our home just because I don’t like the horror films that are constantly playing (our tv rarely goes on during the month of October) or the ghoulish costumes found in the stores.
One of the ways my family and I keep Halloween fun is by being creative with our food.
Thankfully our children are still young enough that these cute mummy hot dogs are demanded during dinner time every year when the weather turns cold and pumpkins start appearing everywhere.
The best part about these mummy hot dogs is if you’re looking to feed your family on a budget, then you’ll love that this recipe only requires two ingredients.

The Easiest Mummy Hot Dogs For Halloween
Ingredients For Mummy Hot Dogs
- Hot dogs
- Crescent rolls
Instructions For Assembling Hot Dogs
I love that these mummy hot dogs are so simple to make. You simply need a container of crescent rolls and a package of hot dogs.
That’s it!
One of the first things I do is get my baking sheets ready and prepped so I can easily put the mummy hot dogs somewhere safe before they are baked.
You’ll want to follow the instructions on the crescent roll package by heating up your oven to 375-F.
Place the rolled out crescent roll package and several hot dogs on a clean cutting board,
Cut the crescent roll dough into four strips and set aside the little triangle on the end. You will use this piece for the mummy’s head.

Wrap the mummy (hot dog) in the crescent roll strips to give the hot dog a little Halloween feel.
If you really want to get creative and win people over, consider cutting little arms into the hot dogs. My husband did this one year and the children went crazy for this mummy hot dog.
Thankfully he made one for each child so there weren’t any hostile negotiations at our dinner table that night.
Once all of your mummy hot dogs are wrapped, bake in the oven according to the crescent roll instructions. This includes temperature and time.
My crescent roll instructions were 375-F for 13 minutes.
When the mummy hot dogs are done baking, set aside to cool.
Feel free to garnish with ketchup or mustard. If you really want to get creative, you can easily dot the top of the hot dog, giving your mummy’s “spooky eyes.”
