Incredibly Moist and Simple Banana Bread Recipe

This recipe makes 1 loaf.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 or 3 very ripe bananas, peeled
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp, salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon, vanilla extract
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • Walnuts, crushed (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Apply cooking spray to one, 4″ x 8″ loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, mash the 2-3 ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir the melted butter into the bowl with the mashed bananas.

Add the baking soda, salt, and sugar. Stir. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract.

Add the flour, 1/2 cup at a time and stir everything together until well blended. (Now is the time to add your optional items such as chocolate chips, walnuts, etc. and stir into the mixture).

Pour the batter into your loaf pan and cook for 50 minutes.

Do the “tester” test: place a knife in the center of the loaf and remove. If the knife comes out clean the loaf is done cooking! If there is still batter, place the loaf back into the oven for 10 more minutes.

When the loaf is completely cooked, remove from the oven and allow the banana bread to cool in the pan. Once the banana bread is cooled you can remove the bread from the pan.

Serve, eat, and enjoy!

For Freezer Instructions:

Allow the loaf to cool completely. Once the loaf is cool to the touch, securely wrap in plastic wrap. Then, place in a freezer-safe baggie, or place in an emptied bread sack. Tie a knot (for the bread sack) and place in the freezer.

This banana bread can be safely frozen for up to 6 months. Once you’re ready to eat, remove from the freezer and place in the refrigerator. Allow the bread to thaw overnight before eating.
